Tim Gibbons is the CEO of EdgeX. His academic background includes a BBA in Accounting from Loyola University of Chicago and an MBA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. His minor in Computer Science and background in auditing have given him a unique skill set in both technical and business areas.
Tim has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare technology industry, having held notable positions such as CEO at Pharmacy OneSource, which he built from scratch to a $50 million annual business with 3,000 hospital accounts in the US. He also sold the business to Wolters Kluwer.
Tim’s “get it done” approach is well-known in the industry, and his work has earned him industry recognition such as the Best in Klas for Sentri7 for patient surveillance in the healthcare category, and Best new business deal award at Wolters Kluwer in 2011.
As CEO of EdgeX, Tim brings his extensive experience and expertise to lead the company’s growth and success.
Jon Siann keeps his “innovation in practice” at the forefront of his approach to engineering. He knows that our industry has the unique opportunity to improve life through the thoughtful application of technology. It’s a space his creative ability can impact the world positively.
Jon Siann is the CTO at EdgeX which is the third technology start-up he has founded. His position leverages his years of experience and unique skill sets in IoT. He earned a BSc (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Edinburgh in 1986.
Jon has held leadership roles in engineering and marketing at technology companies, including IBM, Rockwell Semi, Peregrine Semiconductor (Murata), AMCC, and MicroPower Technology. As CEO/CTO founder at Bretelon he developed a cloud and custom 4G LTE/GPS silicon platform for outdoor tracking and closed an eight-figure non-dilutive contract with a Fortune 50 wireless communications leader.
At Bretelon he parlayed $2.8M in angel investment into a $24M cash exit in less than 18 months.
His passion for technology stems from its potential to impact the world positively. With over 18 years of experience, he has extensive knowledge in ultra-low power enterprise/IoT wireless networking, silicon design, and software-defined radio technologies. He is also an indoor and outdoor localization technology expert, including GNSS (GPS).
He likes to foster a “Quick, Practical Innovation” approach to problems and maintain a strong sense of humor under pressure.
Abraham Palmbach’s expertise is building teams that deliver superior client experiences while maximizing their ROI into new markets. He loves working at the intersection of business, technology, and people to improve patient care.
As COO of EdgeX, Abraham brings over 20 years of management and technology expertise to lead the company’s operations. Abraham has focused his entire career on helping healthcare professionals better serve their patients through technology.
As a founding member of Pharmacy OneSource, Abraham guided the technology and client services efforts to build one of healthcare’s early true multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies starting in 2000, way before the term “Cloud” had today’s meaning. He also brought the concept of “Customer Success” to the company in the mid-2000’s, years before it became standard practice for SaaS companies. In partnership with Tim Gibbons, the systems and teams he helped architect supported nearly 1,300 hospitals across multiple product lines before its acquisition by Wolters Kluwer in 2010.
As President and COO at Wellbe, Abraham led Customer Success, Implementation, and Support for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers looking to improve the patient experience for major procedures like joint replacements, while navigating the shift to value-based care with bundled payments. Abraham also led the creation of private-label partnerships with major medical device companies, as well as all fundraising.
Most recently as Chief Strategy Officer at Medcor, Abraham led the strategic and annual planning processes, as well as a consulting engagement with McKinsey & Company in 2021. Abraham focused on establishing strategic partnerships for Medcor, as well as Product Management for Medcor’s software solutions.
With over 23 years of experience in the healthcare device and technology industry, Brian Sherman attributes his success to his intense customer focus, ongoing desire to solve customer challenges, and his servant leadership principles.
Brian Sherman is the National Sales Director at EdgeX.
Throughout his career, Brian has held notable positions in the healthcare device and technology industry. He served as the Regional Sales Director at MedKeeper, a leading provider of mobile and cloud-based software applications for pharmacy safety, operations, and compliance. He played a key role in driving new business and revenue growth, contributing to MedKeeper’s successful acquisition by Grifols (and more recently BD), a global healthcare company.
Brian most recently served as senior Account Executive at Becton Dickinson, responsible for new and renewal business revenue in multiple territories spanning across the Southeast, Mid-South, and Southwest U.S. Over the past 16 years his expertise and focus has been in healthcare softwares-as-a-service (SaaS) sales, revenue and profit growth, consultative selling, sales operations, and sales management.
Driven, results-oriented, and focused on building strong relationships, Brian has achieved numerous awards and recognitions for outstanding performance with large organizations such as Abbott Laboratories, Baxter Healthcare, Grifols and BD, as well as start-ups including Baxa Corporation, ConsortiEx and MedKeeper.
Takis Ampelas is a seasoned manager and is leading his team to deliver tech that is superior to anything else on the market. Takis is passionate about delivering low-power, low-cost, and low-footprint wireless tech to the healthcare market.
Takis Ampelas is the Vice President of Engineering at EdgeX, where he leads the development of cutting-edge low power, wireless technologies. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from SDSU and has over 23 years of experience in the industry.
Prior to joining EdgeX, Ampelas held notable positions in various technology companies including Director of Quality at Sigma Designs, QA Manager at Micropower Technologies, and as an Engineer at both Texas Instruments and Nokia.
His unique skill sets lie in low power, wireless protocols, embedded systems, testing, and quality control. Ampelas describes his professional approach as “building dependable, low power, all wireless, low-cost technologies”.
Takis takes pride in managing a great team and delivering technology that is superior to anything else in the market. Ampelas has used his extensive experience and knowledge to modify existing technologies, patent new ideas, and create new technologies that overcome obstacles in the healthcare technology industry.
Andrew is a seasoned, value-driven product professional with expertise in user-centered design and Agile methodologies. He is passionate about understanding the “why” behind the needs of customers and translating these insights into actionable product features.
Andrew McLain is the Director of Product at EdgeX, leading the research, design, development and delivery of applications for the EdgeX Network. He brings over 15 years of user-centered design and Agile methodologies, translating customer insights into actionable product features.
Prior to EdgeX, Andrew led notable initiatives with clients such as T-Mobile, Starbucks, Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, and Premera as well as leading Product and UX efforts in-house at multiple startups. In addition to his professional endeavors, Andrew co-founded several startups, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to creating value-driven products.
As Director of Client Services, Leslie provides full life-cycle support for EdgeX’s customers and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
She brings over 19 years of healthcare technology experience to EdgeX and has supported hospitals and clinics across the United States and Canada in her roles at Epic, Pharmacy OneSource/Wolters Kluwer, and Hillrom/Baxter. Her background includes significant roles in project management and client engagement, showcasing a strong commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth.
Leslie is an accomplished professional with a proven track record in client relations and service excellence. With extensive experience in managing and enhancing client experiences, she excels in developing strategies that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. Known for her leadership in building high-performing teams, Leslie is adept at aligning client needs with organizational goals to deliver outstanding results.
